Phase 2, Post 12: Story Making Workshop

I wasn’t able to join in on this class but I looked back at the class recording and followed along:

This is the story I created:

First breakout session:

Issues of bias:

Different races are being hit harder by COVID-19

  • Black and Hispanic communities have the most cases

  • Why? = they live in more densely populated areas - easier spread of virus

  • Most times face discrimination in medical treatment

  • Myth: black people have thicker skin

  • Pain is regarded differently to them

White people going out and cops hand out masks to them

Minorities go out and cops act more aggressively and with violence

Workshop:

Take all the infected, health, and recovered into different groups

Community of the recovered look at their similarities

  • Behavior

  • Character

  • Actions

  • Childhoods

  • Medical histories

  • Etc...

  • All find one thing in common - all adopted a pet

  • What happens to bald people?

  • Do wigs work?

Main character: 25 year old woman, height: 5’5, eye color: dark brown, pets: a cockatoo, a one-eyed bunny and a pitbull.

When we do good things in life, the universe rewards us

(mistreating you pet or only getting it for selfish reasons ruins the good thing and immunity is gone)

Saving a pet by adopting it and giving a better home = cure from deadly plague

Result: dog pounds and other animal shelter shut down because all animals have loving homes, people have a new best friend, virus = GONE

Villain(s): people adopting for selfish reason and don't care for the animals

(mistreating you pet or only getting it for selfish reasons ruins the good thing and immunity is gone)
